DevonThink and Idea Capture

By Todd Henry

I’ve ranted and raved many times about my love of DevonThink. It’s the tool that I use for all of my writing, idea capture and storage. The great thing about it is that it shows you connections between all of your writings, pictures, articles, etc., and helps you generate ideas by smashing them together.

    Todd,

Will you be doing a white board on how you use DevonThink?

    Hi Scott,

This article was written quite a while ago and I’ve adjusted my methodology a bit since then. I’m now mostly using Evernote for my day-to-day note taking and Scrivener for my writing (combined with Dropbox for cloud storage and syncing.) The thing that eventually moved me away from DT is that there’s no way to update and capture notes on the move, like on the iPhone. I needed something that could be a drawer for miscellaneous thoughts at all times.
