It’s terribly easy for me to allow assumption to creep into my life.
I realized a while back that, left unchecked, my tendency is to run as fast as I can in whatever direction I’m headed with assumption as my roadmap. Please understand that I’m not talking about learnings, I’m talking about assumptions. Assumptions are often based on learnings, but are much more restrictive. Assumptions expand to fill any vacuum created by lack of knowledge. We hypothesize based upon our experiences. There’s nothing wrong with this, except for when it begins to put limits on us creatively or starts to cause fear or hesitancy.
Are there any assumptions in your creative life? Again - I don’t mean learnings, I mean assumptions.
Eliminate them. Toss them to the curb.
