At some point we all have to make the decision about what is really important to us. We have a choice of whether we are going to pursue truly great things - find our own voice - or be cast about by the winds of change and the whims of our organization.
Sometimes we have to let go of our ambition in order to find what we are looking for. Sometimes ambition will stand in the way of receiving the object of our ambition.
When we make the decision to prioritize things that are truly great, what Tom Peters calls “wow!” projects, we are putting ourselves at risk of failure, and we are also in the place where true brilliance emerges. Don’t settle. DO NOT SETTLE.
